Après-Ski Guide to Ogden, Utah

By Mekenna Malan | December 2nd, 2022

So you've just spent the day skiing The Greatest Snow on Earth®. What now?

Ogden's intrigue doesn't end once you descend from the Wasatch Range. And don't call it sleepy: this little mountain town has plenty of food, beer and entertainment for your après-adventure amusement. For this list, our employees contributed some of their favorite local spots to eat, drink, and hang out after a day on the slopes.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RESORT:

The Powder Keg at Powder Mountain

Located inside the Timberline Lodge, the unassuming, always-lively Powder Keg has all the components of a perfect après: live music, flame-broiled burgers, ramen, and wings, as well as a great selection of beers on tap.

Cinnabar Lounge at Snowbasin

Inside the beautiful Earl's Lodge lies the Cinnabar Lounge, a family-friendly gastropub with a full bar and local craft beers. Make a reservation and treat yourself to weekend brunch, or live music at the end of your ski day.

Night skiing at Nordic Valley

Nothing says après-ski like...more skiing? If you just can't get enough, Nordic Valley is Utah’s largest night skiing resort with 80% of the mountain under lights. Not to mention, it's one of the most family and budget-friendly ski areas in the country.

FOR A REFRESHING BEER OFF THE MOUNTAIN:

B Street Brewing Company

Roosters Brewing Co. has been an Ogden mainstay since 1995, and the opening of their B Street Taproom was a highly-anticipated addition to Ogden's food and drink scene. In addition to seasonal creations and guest beers, enjoy an eclectic menu of satisfying bites.

UTOG Brewing Company

UTOG Brewing Company has been proudly serving customers since March of 2019. With a focus on high-quality beer, food, and customer service, this family-friendly brewpub (a rare find in the state of Utah) is the perfect place for dinner and drinks downtown, or to pick up six-packs to go.

Shooting Star Saloon

The Shooting Star Saloon has been operating since 1879— that's before Utah even became a state! This quirky, cash-only watering hole provides classic hamburgers and hot dogs, plus a full bar. With a ceiling covered in dollar bills, a stuffed St. Bernard (what?), and a no-nonsense attitude behind the bar, stopping at Shooting Star will be one of the highlights of your ski trip.

ONCE YOU'VE WORKED UP AN APPETITE:

Tona Sushi

This sophisticated Japanese eatery graces Ogden's 25th Street with innovative sushi rolls, bento boxes, and cooked dishes like udon, as well as grilled and tempura items for those looking for more traditional fare. If you love sushi, Tona can't be missed—call ahead and reserve a table by the front windows for the best seat in the house.

Lucky Slice Pizza

After a day of skiing, who isn't craving some pizza by-the-slice? This 25th Street mainstay serves classic and inventive New York-style pizza by-the-slice and whole pie, with an array of mouth-watering appetizers, wings, sides, desserts, and beers to make your après-adventure meal complete.

Ramen Haus

There's almost no better feeling than slurping up a bowl of hot ramen after a cold day on the mountain. Ramen Haus serves up authentic, fresh Japanese-style ramen in nutrient-dense bone broths that'll warm you up from the inside out, as well as Japanese dishes like tsukemono, takoyaki, and honey toast.

YOU'VE PLAYED HARD, YOU DESERVE IT:

Waffle Love

This food-truck-turned-brick-and-mortar-shop is spreading the love one Belgian liege waffle at a time. Whether you prefer sugary sweet, salted savory, or the perfect balance of fruit and treat, Waffle Love serves delectable liege waffles for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.

Ogden Canyon Hot Springs

A true local's secret, these man-made hot springs cascade down the earthen wall at the mouth of Ogden Canyon into a few shallow pools. Be wary while parking and hiking down, and whatever you do, please pack out what you pack in!

The Megaplex

Your ski day was long, and so are dark winter nights. What now? Drive to the Ogden Junction, sit down, eat some popcorn, and take a load off. Don't miss the chance to see the latest blockbuster for only $5 on Tuesdays!
